John Muir Medical Center, Concord is a 245-bed hospital long recognized as a preeminent center for cancer care and cardiac care – including open heart surgery and interventional cardiology. Other areas of specialty include general surgery, orthopedic, and neurology programs. John Muir Medical Center, Concord is accredited by The Joint Commission (TJC), a national surveyor of quality patient care.

2016-2017, Kaiser Permanente health plans were rated 5 out of 5, the only health plan in the country to receive the highest rating for both Medicare and private plans. Kaiser Hospital in nearby Vallejo received the top safety score of "A" which examined and graded more than 2,600 hospitals throughout the United States.  This 248-bed medical center is a general medical and surgical hospital with upwards of 500 doctors and 400 nurses.
